Spearers monitor ice conditions as sturgeon season approaches

Sturgeon spearing enthusiasts are keeping an eye on ice conditions as they gear up for the season opener that is less than three weeks away. Spearers will take to Lake Winnebago and the Upriver Lakes for the start of the 2013 season early on Saturday, Feb. 9. But ice conditions need to improve over the next couple of weeks.
